Renzi says to back no automatic rollover of Russian sanctions

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Italy will stand against an automatic prolongation of anti-Russian sanctions at a forthcoming meeting between ambassadors of the E.U., Prime Minister Matteo Renzi said at a news conference on June 17 after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I can confirm that at the next meeting, at a meeting between ambassadors in Brussels, we will ask this council to discuss the sanctions so that they were not automatically prolonged and so we could know at what stage the implementation of the Minsk agreements is,” Renzi said.
